Parish Fairs Parish Meetings with the Muses by the church of the Holy Cross in Żagań

Parish Fairs have been organized since 2008 on the premises of the former St. Dorothy hospital complex (1851), by the mausoleum of the dukes of Żagań. It is frequented by local residents and the members of community and cultural institutions. The Fairs are organized to help raise money necessary for our own contribution to the planned investments, supported for example with public subsidies from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland. The open air events have been organized regularly since 2008. Their focus is the promotion of the history and culture of the dukes of Żagań of the XIX century, especially the duchesses of Żagań: Wilhelmine and Dorothea. The idea behind the Fairs is also to organize meetings with interesting figures representing instructions dealing with history, culture and conservation of monuments. The program also includes performances by local singing groups and bands as well as by the pupils of the John Paul 2nd Elementary School in Żagań, and tasting of local dishes.
